8glabs Inc. (“8glabs,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use our mobile application Melody Moment (“App”). By downloading or using the App, you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to operate the App:
A. Information You Provide
- Account details such as name, email address, or username if account creation is offered.
- Photo and audio or video recordings that you upload to create karaoke videos.
- Customer support messages if you contact us.
B. Automatically Collected Information
- Device information such as model, operating system, language, and time zone.
- Usage data including how you interact with the App, features you use, and crash reports.
- Approximate location such as country or region derived from IP address for analytics and compliance.
- Analytics identifiers such as device IDs or Apple’s IDFA or IDFV if you opt in to personalized ads.
We do not collect sensitive biometric identifiers or your precise GPS location.
3. Children’s Privacy
The App is designed for all ages but is not intended for children under 13 without parental consent.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If you believe we have collected such data without consent, contact us at support@8glabs.com so we can delete it promptly.
- Parents or guardians can request review or deletion of their child’s data.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate, improve, and personalize the App.
- Generate your karaoke videos and enable sharing.
- Provide customer support.
- Serve personalized advertisements, both within our app and on third-party platforms including Meta, and understand, improve, and measure the effectiveness of those ads.
- Analyze user behavior, track conversions, and attribute app installs to the correct advertising source to inform our marketing strategy.
- Analyze usage trends to improve performance.
- Send you service-related notices such as policy updates and subscription reminders.
- Comply with legal obligations or protect our rights.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We share limited data with:
- Service providers that help us run the App, such as cloud hosting, analytics, and video rendering.
- Stripe and Apple for payment processing of in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- Legal authorities if required by law or to protect our users, services, or rights.
- Parties involved in business transfers such as a merger or acquisition, where your data may be part of transferred assets, with notice provided.
- Third-party service providers for advertising and analytics.
We share certain collected data such as technical data, mobile advertising identifiers, and in-app event data with service providers like Meta Platforms, Inc. to perform advertising, analytics, and attribution services on our behalf. These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your data and only use it for the purposes we specify.
We share the face crops of user-uploaded photos and videos with third-party ML model providers that use them to generate images and videos. These ML model providers do not share any user-uploaded media.
6. Data Storage and Retention
User-generated videos are stored on secure servers and retained only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
User-uploaded photos that include the user’s face are retained on our servers no longer than one week from the time of upload. Third party ML model providers do not retain any user-uploaded media beyond the media generation period.
If you delete a video or your account, we will delete all your personal content such as uploaded photos and videos, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business interests like dispute resolution or backups.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your region, including the U.S., EU or EEA, and California, you may be able to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, opt out of marketing emails or push notifications, or exercise other rights such as data portability and objection to processing.
You also have control over the use of your data for personalized advertising.
- Device Settings: Use “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt-out of Ads Personalization” on Android. If you disable this, we will not use your mobile advertising identifier for targeted advertising, but you may still see non-personalized ads.
- Meta Settings: Adjust your ad preferences directly on Meta platforms such as Facebook or Instagram to control the ads you see from us.
- Right to Opt-Out: Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures such as encryption in transit, secure storage, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The App may link to third-party websites or integrate SDKs such as analytics, crash reporting, or optional ad networks. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure adequate protection of your data consistent with applicable laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. The effective date above indicates the latest revision.
